This course is designed to meet the HSE regulations for working environments with a swimming pool and is perfect for gyms and hotels with pools that are not manned by lifeguards.

The emergency responder can be any member of the facility called upon to rescue and provide first aid.

National Water Safety Management Programme - In Safe Hands

This is a programme developed by RLSS UK that gives employers and employees the safety information and appropriate skills required when working in, around or near open water and having a strong focus on preventative measures – along with effective emergency response skills.

National Pool Lifeguard course - In Safe Hands training

National Pool Lifeguard

This course is the most widely recognised lifeguard qualification in the UK and Ireland.

It is a requirement for most lifeguarding jobs in the country and includes all elements of pool rescue techniques, lifeguarding theory, first aid and CPR.

Pool Extraction Board (PXB) - In Safe Hands training

Pool Extraction Board (PXB)

This course is a stand-alone course for the use of the eagerly anticipated Pool Extraction Board (PXB), created in partnership with the RLSS UK and Ferno UK.

The new design creates faster rescue times, offers improved safety and has the potential to reduce demands placed on staff whilst ensuring the casualty is extracted from the pool with the correct care and attention.

Pool Plant Operator - In Safe Hands training

Pool Plant Operator

Approved by a national awarding body the Pool Plant Operations course is the highest-level qualification available for those who are responsible for the management and maintenance of swimming pools, spas and wet play facilities.

In line with the latest PWTAG guidelines and national occupational standards, the PPO course enables the learner to gain the suitable knowledge and skills required to properly manage and maintain the pool plant room and ensure the health and safety of their swimmers, users, operators and other persons.

National Award for Swim Teachers and Coaches - In Safe Hands

National Rescue Award for Swim Teachers and Coaches

Widely known as NRASTC, this course is for the supervision and rescue qualification for teachers working on the poolside or in the water during programmed activities, such as a swimming lesson.

It is suitable for teachers working in a wide range of swimming pools where the water is deeper than the teachers’ standing depth and meets the Individual sites risk assessment.

Aquatic Therapy Shallow Pool Rescue Award - In Safe Hands training

Aquatic Therapy Shallow Pool Rescue Award

This is a supervision and rescue qualification for therapists, teachers and support staff working on the poolside or in the water during activities such as, aquatic therapy or therapeutic exercise/play.

The qualification is suitable for use in shallow pools where the rescuer will not be required to swim to perform a rescue, with water no deeper than the rescuers chest depth.

Water Smart Awards - In Safe Hands Training

Water Smart Award

This course is designed to establish an essential skill base which we consider everyone should achieve to ensure safety and competence around water, which ultimately supports the prevention of drowning.

This course has been designed as a standalone award from other water safety programmes and provides a gateway for participants to go on to complete further awards to develop skills and knowledge to keep themselves and others safe whilst enjoying the water.
