In Safe Hands Training Emergency First Aid at Work

First aid is defined as the 'help given to a sick or injured person until full medical treatment is available'.

Effective emergency treatment before professional help arrives can go a long way to reducing the effects of illness and injury and indeed save someones life.

The Emergency First Aid at Work course can be provided at any suitable location or you can attend training at our Simulation Centre here in Cornwall.

This course will include:

• The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
• Contents of first aid kits and equipment
• The aims and priorities of first aid
• Primary assessment and cardio pulmonary
• Resuscitation for the adult casualty
• The recovery position
• Choking
• How to deal with minor, major bleeding and shock
• Treatment for burns
• Dealing with seizures

During your training, you will complete a multiple choice examination paper to confirm your learning and gain the accredited qualification which is valid for three years.
Each candidate will be given a full colour manual to keep for reference and be invited to keep their life saving skills up to date by attending an annual refresher course with us.
To requalify at the end of the 3 years you will need to complete the full 1 day course again.
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training
